The scope of the assignment, data collection, research, and the written report are paramount to achieving a defensible estimate of value of the equipment. After I collect the data on the equipment, I go to work applying the three approaches to value to every piece of equipment: The Cost, Market, and Income Approach to determine which approach is the most reliable and verifiable data. Someone who is not skilled, experienced, and Certified would not consider these important aspects of equipment appraisal.

SITE VISIT APPRAISAL

A Site Visit Appraisal is performed when Certified Equipment Appraiser views the equipment with an individual who can discuss the equipment. A Desktop Appraisal is performed without a site visit. Both types of appraisals are equally valid but sometimes a site visit is required.
